Our workshops are very flexible and designed to suit your needs.

Go Arty offer sessions for all types who want to have fun and be involved in something unique and creative. No artistic ability is necessary. Our fun-loving and experienced Artists will tailor the event to meet your needs and the artwork is designed to suit your theme and intended use. Prices vary according to the requirements of the event and the group.

Group can arrange their own catering or we can help do this for you for an additional cost.

We provide aprons. Feel free to wear casual attire.

Workshop FAQ

1. What is a Go Arty workshop?

There is a hidden talent in all of us, its time to let yours out! In a Go Arty workshop, you will be guided by one of our experienced Artists as you learn to paint from your heart (not your head).

Come to our painting workshop and discover your creative genius in a supportive, non-judgemental environment and have a 'work of art' to take home at the end of the day!

You can choose a canvas to paint from our wide range of contemporary 'lifestyle art' samples or you can make up your own design.

With the guidance of our Artist's experience in the field of colour, technique and design, coupled with her unique down to earth teaching style you will discover your hidden talents.

2. Is Go Arty just for girls?

Do pigs fly? Of course not! Men are welcome and we have a number of keen and creative men who paint with us frequently. Come on in boys and take advantage of our fun and creative environment that will instantly put you at ease.

If you're still not sure, why not call the studio and ask to speak to Tony, one of our qualified male Artists, who can discuss any queries you might have.

3. Do I need to have any previous experience?

You don't need any previous drawing or painting experience. A desire to create is all you need.

To make your experience an enjoyable one and stress free, we categorise our art designs into Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. We have hundreds of designs in each category to choose from.

If you have not painted with us before, you recommend you start in the Beginners category and we would then advance you when we feel that you are ready.

4. What if I want to challenge myself and jump a category?

Not a problem! There is a small fee of $50 to jump a category because this will mean that our experienced and qualified Artists will naturally, spend a lot more time with you. Our aim is to make the experience as much fun as possible!

5. What can I paint in a workshop?

We have more than 100 designs for you to choose from and we take you step-by-step through the process. All designs can be done in any colour or size. Check out the gallery page on this site.

6. How much does a workshop cost?

Depending on the size and complexity level of the design you choose to paint, our affordable and competitive prices range from $100 to $425
These prices are for a completed painting, which includes all your workshop time (as long as it takes you), canvas and product (please note: if you would like a glossy finish on your canvas, this is called 'resin' and this would cost a little extra).

7. How long will it take me to paint my canvas?

Majority of people complete their canvas in one day. Others like to spend more time perfecting their skills and can take two or three days to complete their design. This is totally up to you. The beauty is that you can take as long as you like. You can feel rest assured that you have access to one of our talented and experienced Artist's as you paint.

You have up to one month to complete your piece and you need to book your classes ahead, so that Go Arty can fit you in. See our classes section to make a booking.

8. What should I bring to my Go Arty workshop?

It is very useful if you can bring in any pieces of soft furnishing, photos, sample pots and colour swatches that you would like your canvas to be colour matched to your interior decor.

Tea and coffee is provided at the studio on tap and there are convenient on-site toilet facilities.

There is a café across the road which does simple lunches to order. Alternatively, BYO lunch and relax in our comfortable lounge area, while you take a well deserved break.

9. Do you provide any support for people who find choosing colours confusing?

Absolutely! When choosing your piece, have in mind where you are going to hang it and let your choice of size be depicted by the size of your wall. Too big would be overpowering for the room and too small would be like a needle in a hay stack. We are very happy to come to your home and provide consultation advice on the best design, size and colours to suit your needs. We provide this service for a very small fee of $85.

10. Can I buy direct from the gallery or commission my own design to be painted for me?

Yes to both questions. Fill your home with art that creates a true WOW factor! Go Arty has two professional Artists that you can commission to paint an art piece especially for you - art that will change a dull room into a room with atmosphere and attitude.

We offer a service to consult with our artists at the studio or at your home. This is a sure way that we are able to produce the perfect results. We will help you with size, colour and design and take the stress out of the whole project.

All you need to do is give us a call or email us and we can start the ball rolling.

11. How much does it cost to buy art direct or commission my own piece?

All our canvases are painted in-house, in our very own studio and this enable us to ensure our prices are very competitive - you will be pleasantly surprised. Browse our gallery to view prices (they vary with canvas size) or give us a call and request a quote for your exact needs.

As an added incentive, we offer you our consultancy fee for FREE if you place an order. Otherwise, there is a fee of $85 for this service.
